Author: Anstruther, Gerald

Did Janet Clayton murder her husband? In spite of strong evidence and a summing up against her, the jury says ‘No’. But the village of Framley says ‘Yes’, and when Janet returns after her acquittal she finds herself ostracised from the community. She is, however, determined to face up to her situation and prove that the jury was right. She lets it be known that she has a clue as to the real murderer. An attack by a black-veiled figure is made on her but fails. After a dramatic scene, the killer is finally exposed.
